£11bn hit on taxes
CUTTING income tax for people earning more than £1million a year has deprived the Exchequer of more than £11billion.
It would have paid for an extra 30,000 nurses, 15,000 police officers and 20,000 teachers, said the Unison union.
General secretary Dave Prentis said: “It is downright disgusting that public services have lost out on billions, while the richest have benefited handsomely.”
