Elba fantasy clip goes viral

CORRIE star Patti Clare has been accused of sexing up the soap after footage of her character’s fantasies about Idris Elba went viral.

Patti, who plays mild-mannered Mary Taylor, appeared to simulate a sex act as she discussed the hunky Brit actor while preparing to spit roast a steak.

The saucy clip, broadcast at peak-time on ITV, was soon shared worldwide.

Conversation Street Podcast tweeted it with the message: “Who else loved Mary and her Idris Elba fantasies tonight?’’

Co-star Charlie de Melo, who plays solicitor Imran Habeeb, replied he was stunned how Patti managed to get so much X-rated innuendo past staff who examine every episode to ensure they adhere to broadcasting standards.

He said: “The amount of stuff Patti manages to get past compliance is absolutely breathtaking.”

Conversation Street Podcast replied: “We want to see a compilation of the stuff that doesn’t get past!’’

Charlie fired back: “It’ll be shown at the Coronation Street wrap party.’’

Patti, 42, liked the messages along with a tweet by a viewer INNUENDO: Patti gets saucy with skewer

describing her as a “tireless supporter of innuendo”.

It is not the first time Patti’s character’s antics have shocked viewers. In March she sent social media into a frenzy when she introduced her “slit pink conch” into a discussion about shells.
