BRAVE Nicolai Klindt helped Poole to the top of table despite a dislocated shoulder.

The Midlands-based racer flew back to Denmark yesterday to see a specialist after suffering the injury during his second ride on Monday night.

He insisted on carrying on, though, and was one of the Pirates’ heroes as they completed their fairy tale march from bottom to top of the Premiership ladder.

Victory over title rivals Somerset saw them make it

23 points out of 27 since they began their revival at the beginning of last month.

Klindt, 29, managed to cling onto his bike despite being speared by an out of control opponent for a vital third place and then sealed Poole’s 47-43 victory with a last race win.

“My shoulder popped out in the incident but luckily popped back into place on the other straight and I was able to carry on,” he said.

“It’s the same shoulder I had an operation on back in

2010.

“I haven’t had issues since but I will see a specialist.” °

TOMASZ JEDRZEJAK, who rode for Belle Vue, Eastbourne and Lakeside in the UK, has been found dead at home in his native Poland. The 2012 Polish champion was 39.

He scored 11 points for Rzeszow in a Polish second division match on Sunday.

Brit Tai Woffinden, who is on course for his third world title, tweeted: “Some times you just don’t know whats going on under the surface. Your a legend mate, such a good bloke.”
