Touch of Serena

THE Army has been blasted for bringing in a fitness test for troops that is impossible to fail.

A leaked document reveals the new programme, being brought in next April, has no pass or fail.

The Soldiers’ Conditioning Review will replace the current Personal Fitness Assessment that sets targets squaddies must reach before they can go to war.

Critics reckon it is because bosses want to retain existing personnel and attract new recruits.

The document states: “The SCR is not a critical test, but results may indicate the need for personnel to attend additional fitness training.”

It is intended to rank fitness levels on a scale of one to 10. Unlike the PFA, the new regime will not make allowances for someone’s age or gender.

The SCR will apply to all regular and reserve troops.

An Army spokesman said: “Soldiers have to meet demanding fitness requirements and that is not going to change.”

Meanwhile, the Army has failed to stamp out sexual assaults, according to a survey, with 15% of women in the service having experienced an “upsetting” sexual incident.

Nine said they had been raped and 26 claimed they suffered serious sexual assaults in the past year.

The Army said it would continue to be open and honest about how it was tackling the problem. SERENA Williams went topless and sang “I Touch Myself ” to remind women to check their breasts.

The 23-time major winner crooned to the classic by The Divinyls in a video uploaded to her Instagram followers for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Liked more than 1.5million times, the video slowly pans out as she sings the lyrics.

The 37-year-old wrote: “Yes, this put me out of my comfort zone, but I wanted to do it because it’s an issue that affects all women of all colours, all around the world.

“Early detection is key – it saves so many lives. I just hope this helps to remind women of that.” BOOB JOB: Williams
