Bale blow adds to woe for Real

GARETH BALE has been ruled out of Real Madrid’s Champions League Group G clash at CSKA Moscow tomorrow night with a thigh injury.

The Welsh superstar was injured during Real’s 0-0 draw with neighbours Atletico on Saturday to deepen their injury problems.

Boss Julen Lopetegui also lost his captain Sergio Ramos with a cut head as Real stayed level on points with leaders Barcelona, who were held at home by Bilbao.

Tottenham could hardly have timed it better to play Spanish champions Barca at Wembley on Wednesday night after a three-game winless run in which they were held by Girona last weekend and then suffered a shock defeat by Leganes.

Valencia, who play struggling Manchester United at Old Trafford tomorrow night, warmed up with a 1-0 win at Real Sociedad.

Juventus came from behind to move six points clear in Serie A. They extended their winning start to the season to seven matches with a 3-1 win over second-placed Napoli, who tackle Liverpool on Wednesday.

Cristiano Ronaldo failed to scored for the sixth time in eight Juve games but had a hand in all three goals, with Mario Mandzukic scoring twice. Napoli ended with 10 men after Mario Rui was shown a second yellow card.
