Fat guru’s on a loser

-

WE all know there is an obesity “crisis” in this country.

Barely a day goes by without the finger waggers telling us to be more healthy because the country is getting fatter.

And as a nation we probably ought to be more careful what we eat.

But TV guru Steve Miller’s views are more than a little warped.

It’s true that parents are in many ways responsible for the health of their children.

But suggesting you should have them taken away if they are “too fat” is abhorrent. Does he really think that will help the child?

There are many factors that cause kids to be overweight – genetics, the area where you live, the amount you earn.

Some people can eat what they like and never put on a pound.

Others can exercise and eat healthily and still be officially overweight.

Bringing up children is one of life’s very toughest jobs.

And punishing mums and dads this way will help no-one.
