Mylee father guilty

KILLER: Billingham A DAD who stabbed his eight-year-old daughter in the chest to get “revenge” on his ex-partner was yesterday found guilty of murder.

William Billingham, 55, used a kitchen knife to kill Mylee as she screamed “Please, daddy, no daddy” after dragging her into his bungalow near Walsall, West Mids.

The unemployed factory worker killed her moments after holding the blade to the neck of her mum Tracey Taundry, Birmingham Crown Court was told.

Prosecutors said he “turned his anger” on Mylee to spite his ex after she began a relationship with another woman.

Billingham chose not to give evidence, insisting he could not remember the stabbing in January. He claimed he was guilty of manslaughter due to depression.

But Karim Khalil, prosecuting, said: “This was not some manic, unfocused assault.

“It was a deep, violent thrust of a lethal weapon into his daughter’s body.”

Judge Paul Farrer QC revealed Billingham, who will be sentenced today, had surgery during the trial after injuring his wrists in an apparent suicide bid.
