HOW FOOTIE ACE GROB CAUSED A WEE CRASH

FORMER Liverpool star Bruce Grobbelaar once cause a car crash by hurling a bucket of wee from the team bus.

The goalie, 60, told how the team had been returning from an FA Cup defeat at Brighton.

He said: “In those days we didn’t have a toilet on the bus. On this occasion I brought a bucket with a lid and I put it at the back.

“The pee was filling up the bucket and by the time we were in London the bucket was full.

“I asked some of the guys to open the emergency door right at the back so I could throw it out and I accidentally hit a car as I did it. It landed on the front windscreen and so the driver couldn’t see anything as the pee hit the window.

“He drove straight into a lamppost. But our driver didn’t see what happened so the bus carried on.”

In his book, Life In The Jungle, Grobbelaar said boss Bob Paisley quizzed players after a complaint was made. He added: “Paisley told us they wanted insurance money, but I think the club ended up settling the bill. One week later we had a bus with a toilet in it.’’
