BEY URGED TO ELBOW SIR SHIFTY
Claims spark fashion row
BEYONCE has been urged to abandon her business partnership with Sir Philip Green following accusations of bullying and sexual harassment against him.
The superstar launched clothing line Ivy Park – named after sixyear-old daughter Blue Ivy – with the Topshop tycoon in 2016.
Sir Philip was named in the House of Lords last week for obtaining a gagging order to hide claims he paid off five alleged sex and race harassment victims.
Campaigners including British singer-songwriter Nerina Pallot have now urged women to stop buying brands linked to his Arcadia group such as Topshop, Miss Selfridge and Dorothy Perkins.
Many have used the hashtag #Pinknotgreen. Beyoncé, 37, was last night urged to sever all ties with Sir Philip.
Yasmeen Hassan, of campaign group Equality Now, said: “Beyoncé has put herself forward as a women’s rights activist. She and her team need to look closely at these allegations.'' Another activist, Nimco Ali, said: “Beyoncé should say: ‘I don’t want to work with Philip Green.’” Beyoncé’s agents declined requests for comment last night. Meanwhile, Sir Philip, 66, insisted he had indulged in nothing more than “banter” with his staff. Speaking from a spa resort in Arizona, he said: “I’m being used as target practice. It’s injuring my business. It’s a horror story.”
