Watch us hit Klopp gear

ALISSON WANTS KOP TO CLICK

- By CHRIS McKENNA

ALISSON has warned Liverpool’s title rivals it is just a matter of time before Jurgen Klopp’s men hit top gear.

Liverpool are unbeaten in the league with only goal difference separating them and leaders Manchester City.

Klopp’s men are also in the driving seat in their Champions League group as they close in on the knockout stages.

Brazilian keeper Alisson said: “It’s a really important season for us, one of high expectations.

“There are already high expectations on us given our quality.

Excited

“We have demonstrated this with only one defeat in the Champions League and we are unbeaten in the Premier League having achieved important results.

“So I definitely believe that we’re on the right track but it’s too early to get excited. We have to keep our feet on the ground.

“We know it’s going to be really difficult this season given the quality of the other teams and we know how difficult it is to win this league.

“We have to fight a great deal, taking it game by game and step by step to do everything right and continue on the trajectory we’re on at the moment.”

Alisson says Liverpool will only improve as the season goes on.

That will be helped by their terrific trio up front – Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino – returning to top form.

Wins over Red Star Belgrade and Cardiff, where Liverpool scored nine goals, served notice of their intent ahead of Saturday’s trip to in-form Arsenal.

Alisson added: “We know we can improve on the pitch.

“That’s a positive thing, taking into account the campaign we’ve had up until now, and there is still room for growth, both technically and tactically.

“It’s a positive thing for us and a positive thing we can work towards. We’re always aware it’s a difficult league and we can give everything on the pitch.

“That’s our biggest challenge, to continue growing and continue to get better.

“So when other clubs maybe have a dip or have peaked, we can continue getting better.”
