BOOST FOR £

THE value of the pound immediately rose against both the dollar and the euro after the Brexit agreement. The currency had started falling earlier in the day after Policing Minister Nick Hurd said Mrs May would not speak to the media after the mammoth five-hour Cabinet meeting.

But it quickly recovered those losses after the dramatic U-turn and it continued to fluctuate. It eventually ended up 0.2% higher.

Experts said the pound rebounded against the dollar as the Prime Minister reportedly secured Cabinet support for the Brexit deal.
