Teacher toy rap

A HEADTEACHER has been branded racist for naming a toy panda Ping Pong.

Kevin Gaiderman, of Chellaston Academy in Derby, says he had “no intention of insulting anyone” over the panda he bought in China on a school trip.

But an anonymous letter to local media accused him of “poor judgment”.

It said: “When he mentioned this in a staff briefing, the majority of the staff couldn’t believe what they were hearing.”

But a parent, who asked not to be named, said: “I can’t believe it, this is obviously someone out to make trouble or someone who’s not got enough to worry about.”
