A MOTORIST was seen on camera hula dancing as he drove on a motorway.

Jeremy Dillon, 51, admitted careless driving and was fined £286 after becoming one of the first to be trapped by footage from Highways England cars fitted with front and rear spy cams.

Officers noticed his BMW driving closely behind them and switching lanes on the M6 near Carlisle.

Dillon was spotted taking his hands from the wheel and waving both arms out of the car window as though doing a Hawaiian-style dance.

He told police his driving was not careless. but when confronted by footage admitted it was a “stupid act”.

Magistrates in Carlisle also gave Dillon, who said he had been annoyed by traffic jams, six penalty points.
