A FOOTBALLER is fuming after being sent off for the first time in his career – for taking a half-time leak.

Player-manager Daryl Addis, 38, was given his marching orders after he urinated behind a bush.

He said: “It was unbelievable. I did my team talk at half-time and needed the toilet, so I went away from the pitch with nobody in sight and found a bush around 50 yards away. I came back and the referee sent me off.

“I asked him after the game what it was all about and he just walked off into the bar.”

Striker Daryl plays for Gloucestershire village team English Bicknor in the Northern Senior League Division

GAME’S UP: Red card Two. His side went on to lose 4-3 to rivals Winchcombe.

He now faces a two-match ban and a £40 fine for his indiscretion. He added: “I feel disappointed because I love playing football and think some common sense was needed here.

“I have never been sent off before during a long career in non-league football, so shocked isn’t the word.”
