Wayne gets the shirt off back one last time

HARRY KANE has told Wayne Rooney: Come in No.10, your time is up.

Former captain Rooney will make his

120th and final England appearance tonight against the USA at Wembley.

Despite being a substitute, England’s all-time leading goalscorer will wear the

No.10 shirt he graced for so long – thanks to current skipper Kane.

Gareth Southgate’s squad held talks about how to make Rooney’s Three Lions farewell perfect.

Kane then went to the England boss and told him he was prepared to sacrifice his own shirt as it would not be appropriat­e for Rooney to run out in anything else.

Southgate said: “He will come on with a No.10.

“There won’t be a No.10 to start. I don’t think that would be allowed.

“Harry came to see me and said, ‘Look, we don’t think it would be right for him to come on wearing a shirt he hasn’t worn’.
