Howe tips Cook for Lions call-up
said: “He certainly would have a chance. He has been the model of consistency and there are not many English centre-backs performing at his levels.
“I am sure he is in Gareth’s mind.
“Over the last few seasons he has become accustomed to the Premier League; the speed, the pace and the intensity of it.
“Physically he has looked really good this year and mentally he has matured as the seasons have gone on.”
Cook will get another chance to impress when Arsenal visit tomorrow.
Howe has been impressed with the way Gunners boss Unai
“I want to hold the attacking moments to score and to do less the possibility of chances for the opponents to score. But it’s not easy.”
Tomorrow’s trip to Bournemouth is the first of five games in 13 days for Arsenal and Emery admits he will have to rotate his squad to keep on track.
The Gunners travel to Ukraine to take on Vorskla Poltava on Thursday ahead of next Sunday’s derby with Tottenham, and then face Manchester United and Huddersfield
Emery added: “This is my first experience of not stopping for Christmas. But people with experience tell me it’s an important month. We need every player.
“We prepare with different players each match. Maybe we are going to make changes to give other players a possibility to help us knowing they can give us big performances.” Emery has seamlessly settled in at the Emirates.
He added: “The manager has done very well. I would imagine it’s not easy to go into a club the size of Arsenal who have been used to one manager for so long.
“We have seen many people over the years who have found it very difficult, but he has come in and made an impact.”
