Sweet little kiss that put web trolls in a frenzy
DAVID Beckham’s fans have defended him against online trolls after he was slammed for kissing his young daughter on the lips.
The former England captain posted an Instagram snap of him with Harper, seven, during an ice-skating trip.
But the image of Becks’ peck caused a storm online, with critics claiming a dad should never kiss his daughter on the mouth. One follower raged: “If a dad kisses a child on the lips it’s completely wrong.”
Another even threatened to call the police while TV motormouth Piers Morgan branded it “weird”.
But fans, including Jamie Vardy’s wife Rebekah, came to the 43-year-old’s defence. Rebekah, 36, said: “Read it all now! I kiss my children on the lips all the time.”
One fan wrote: “It’s a photo of a loving father. Why do people have to ruin something so innocent.”
And a second said: “There is nothing wrong with parents kissing their children on the lips... unless you have a sick, twisted mind.”
The Beckhams have shared pictures of them kissing their children on the mouth before, saying it is their way of showing affection.
Dad-of-four Becks spoke out last year after a similar photo of him with Harper.
He said: “I got criticised for kissing my daughter. I kiss all my kids on the lips. Brooklyn, maybe not. Brooklyn’s 18, he might find that a little bit strange.”
