JUNGLE STAR: Emily

TESS Daly has quickstepped her way into an acting career.

The Strictly presenter has bagged a role in a new drama for kids’ channel CBBC.

But it’s not too much of a stretch for her – because she is playing a TV host.

Almost Never centres around a singing show which Tess fronts.

A show insider said: “An acting role is something different for Tess, but she was really excited to get the part.”

The role marks a return to children’s telly for Tess, right, who launched her career on SMTV more than 15 years ago.

She stars alongside a host of other famous faces.

I’m A Celebrity campmates Emily Atack and Fleur East are also in the cast. And ex-Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt plays a ruthless music manager.

Almost Never sees two pop groups competing for success — boyband The Wonderland and girlband Girls Here First.

A CBBC spokesman said: “It charts ups and downs as they try to grow their fan base and find the best songs to record.

“As the boys try to make it in the music business, they also have to juggle home life, school and relationships alongside their dreams of pop stardom.”

The show is scheduled to air in the new year.
