Moore: The heat is on

- By JAMES NURSEY

said: “I don’t need to say much to the fans because I know what the game means to them.

“They’ll be in here in full voice, they’ll make it a white hot atmosphere.

“I know they’re passionate for the Albion. I don’t need to gee it up anymore foot, right foot. He’s been spot on.” Smith says he is not worried Chelsea might recall Abraham in January as he is making such a good job of what the London side wanted him to do.

“I see no reason not to see him continue here,” he said. “He’s playing games and he’s scoring goals and that’s what he came here for.”

Villa trail West Brom by four points and Smith added: “It’s got all the ingredients of a thriller – the top two scoring teams in the league going at it.

“We’ve all seen these turn out to be 0-0 after all that build up, but I don’t think that will happen. “It’s a big game and both sides are going for promotion so that adds that extra spice.

“We’re a threat to anybody but they have players who know where the net is as well – the likes of Dwight Gayle, Jay Rodriguez and Matt Phillips.

“The hardest thing in football is to score goals but neither side appears to have that problem at the moment so it promises to be a great game.” because it’s already in the stomach and the bellies of those coming on Friday.

“You’ve got James Morrison, Chris Brunt and Boaz Myhill in the squad, people who know what these types of games are about. They’ll let the players know what type of game this is. I used to love playing in these games.”
