Warm feel in Jungle

-

AS the curtain falls on this year’s I’m A Celeb, there’s no doubt it has lived up to the hype.

Beforehand, the question on everyone’s lips was whether the flagship show could cope without Ant McPartlin.

But after ITV pulled out all the stops to rein in an A-list line-up, that “major” issue has barely registered on most people’s radars.

And far from just being a pretty face in the background, Holly Willoughby has proved her worth alongside Dec.

As well as changes in the presenting team, the feel of this year’s show turned out to be different.

Past series were famous for their fallouts and drama.

But this year’s I’m A Celeb was a far more placid affair.

Hearing Harry Redknapp express his genuine love for his wife after so many years will go down as a highlight.

And its appeal with the public was clear for all to see after the opening episode recorded its highest viewing figures in years.

Many of us like to complain about how uncaring modern society is becoming.

In reality, it might be truer that most of us are actually quite soppy and, at heart, emotional.
