Grieving brother’s tribute to murdered Brit Grace, 22
THE brother of missing British backpacker Grace Millane revealed that he feared his “sunshine” had gone after police found a body.
Declan posted the lyrics to the song You Are My Sunshine on Instagram as New Zealand detectives charged a 26-year-old man with Grace’s murder.
He wrote: “You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. You'll never know, ® dear, how much I love you. Please don’t take my sunshine away.”
The body was found in bushland west of Auckland yesterday.
Formal identification had not taken place last night but police fear it is the backpacker from Wickford, Essex.
Her suspected killer, a New Zealander still not named last night, is scheduled to appear at Auckland District Court today. Grace was last seen on December 1 – the day before her 22nd birthday – with a male companion at Citylife Hotel, where rooms cost up to £644 a night.
