I CAN’T stand the oik my mum is sleeping with. I’m convinced he’s only with her for the little money she does have.

She owns her own ex-council house and has a decent pension from my late dad’s firm. When I go round, he’s lounging around like the lord of the manor.

I can see that she’s obsessed with him.

She’s told my sister she’s having the best sex of her life, which turns my stomach.

My dear dad was a decent, respectable man and would have hated this gold digger. He worked hard and died of a heart attack at 56.

All this creep has done is step into his slippers and reap the rewards.

JANE SAYS: Of course you’re worried about your mother and resent this man taking over her house and her life, but you have to accept she can do whatever she likes.

If she is of sound mind and body and isn’t considered a vulnerable adult, then this is her time now.

I get it that her new man couldn’t be more different to your late father, but you have no way of knowing how that marriage worked behind closed doors.

If it is physical love that excites your mother, then get over it.

She’s entitled to sexual satisfaction too.

Maybe you need to stay away from her home until things have calmed down a bit.

Ring and text her and meet her in a café, but don’t upset yourself by mixing with him if you and he are never going to get on.
