Parents’ tribute to tragic goalie Luca

THE parents of a teenage footballer who died after colliding with another player have paid a heartbreaking tribute to him.
Bedgrove Dynamos goalkeeper Luca Campanaro, 14, suffered a head injury in an under-15s match.
The Tottenham Hotspur fan collided with the player in a freak accident as he tried to save the ball.
Luca, from Aylesbury, Bucks, was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital but was pronounced dead on Monday after the incident in Hillingdon, London, in a game against Harefield United.
Distraught parents
Joanne and Americo said: “He was such a special boy and we are so, so proud of him. There are no words to describe the pain we are feeling.”
His family said they took comfort from the fact his organs would be donated to help save other lives.
Stepdad Adam Keedle described Luca as an “amazing young man and a real loss to the world”.
In a statement, his team said: “We are deeply saddened to have to announce that a young player from the club sadly passed away after being involved in a collision.
“Our thoughts are with Luca’s family and loved ones.
“We offer our heartfelt condolences to his team-mates and all associated with the club.
“Everyone at the club is devastated and we ask that the privacy of his family, the players and club members is respected at this incredibly difficult time.

be made in due course and players will be notified as soon as possible.”
Well-wishers have already donated more than £13,000 to a JustGiving page, with money raised going towards funeral costs.
