£76m

A LOTTERY winner finally claimed a £76million jackpot after a six-week hunt led by the Daily Star.

They came forward after our very own Sherlock Holmes got on the case.

National Lottery chiefs yesterday confirmed someone had finally put their hand up for Britain’s 12th biggest prize ever.

Bosses are now waiting to confirm the EuroMillions ticket is genuine. The winning line was said to have been purchased in the Boston and Skegness region of Lincolnshire at the start of November.

We printed an appeal and sent our own top detective to the towns in an effort to track down the unwitting millionaire after they failed to make their claim.

Now the triumphant player is set for a very merry Christmas.
