Grenfell ‘expert’ is fined
AN UNREGULATED architect who wangled a place on the investigation into the Grenfell Tower tragedy has been ordered to pay £6,240.
John Priestley was not registered with the Architects Registration Board when he was appointed to look into the design of the London flats that burst into flames and left 72 people dead.
He was charged with using the word “architect” for his business despite not being registered since 2010.
Priestley, of Covent Garden, west London, did not attend the hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
