Plenty of reasons to go for in-form Bowen

-

A £750,000 Scoop6 is the festive treat waiting to be snapped up this weekend with just 72 horses entered across the six races, making the prize extremely tempting.

There are three races apiece from a pair of West Country tracks in Hereford and Cheltenham making up the Scoop6.

We start at Hereford at noon and the lightly raced nine-year-old Maybe Plenty is taken to record a second chase success.

He will improve on from his recent third place finish and the booking of James Bowen takes the eye.

Still Believing can take the Mares’ Chase at Hereford (1.10). She is on a hat-trick over fences after wins at Chepstow and Exeter and is forgiven her below-par run over hurdles at Ludlow.

Guitar Pete can land back-to-back Caspian Caviar Gold Cups (1.55) for the in-form yard of Nicky Richards.

He followed that win with a sixth at the festival and was third here four weeks ago off just a 4lb higher mark than his win 12 months ago, can repeat the feat.

Rough Night won at a canter at Lingfield on a first start for Alex Hales and the ex-Irish runner can remain unbeaten for the stable by taking the Horseboxes TUNED IN: Guitar Pete chases a second Caviar Gold Cup at Hereford Handicap Hurdle at Hereford (2.20). Last year’s Supreme Novice Hurdle winner Summerville Boy looks to bounce back from a lacklustre run in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle with a win in the International Hurdle (3.05) as leg five.

He was beaten on his first start last season before winning a pair of Grade One contests. The lucky last at Cheltenham (3.40) can go to Petticoat Tails, who can avenge his defeat by Sensulano at Ascot. MARK PEARSON Hereford 12.00 Hereford 1.10
