LUKAS ON MONK MISSION

- By DAVE ARMITAGE

DETERMINED: Jutkiewicz IN-FORM Lukas Jutkiewicz wants to pay off another chunk of the massive debt that he owes Birmingham boss Garry Monk.

Jutkiewicz and his strike partner Che Adams will be going all-out to win the battle of the hotshots when they tackle Blackburn at Ewood Park today.

Blackburn’s Bradley Dack and Danny Graham have 16 league goals between them this season – three less than the Brum duo.

Jutkiewicz is under no illusions that the key to landing the three points could lie with which set of strikers deliver.

And he says he is full of confidence because he has had a new lease of life since Monk took over at the club last March.

Jutkiewicz said: “I’ve got a massive debt to him for coming in and reviving my Birmingham City career.

“Blackburn are a really good quality side with a lot of firepower, particularly their front two, one in the hole and one up front.

“Dack and Graham have been on fire this season. We will have to have our wits about us.”

Talk

Monk hopes it’s his boys who can deliver, and said: “They have got a very good squad, especially attackingwise with the front two.

“If you are looking at stats their pairing would be quite similar with Che and Jukey. They slightly complement each other differently than Che and Jukey, but in terms of their effectiveness and delivering performances they’ve been very similar throughout the season – so it will be interesting.

“It won’t just be about four players, even though the talk may be about them in the build-up.

“But if it comes down to those two against those two, then hopefully it’s our pair that can grab the headlines.”
