Brooke backs soap battle

BROOKE Vincent has joined Coronation Street’s loyal viewers in calling for justice for her soap mum Sally Metcalfe.

Brooke, 26, who plays Sophie in the hit soap, has joined our Save

Our Sally campaign to win her freedom.

Thousands have seen

Sally – played by Sally Dynevor – jailed for four years for fraud after being framed.

Sally, 55, has admitted her real-life family cannot bear to tune in as her character faces spending Christmas banged up.

Brooke has “recruited” the biggest names in the soap’s history to lend their support.

She visited Madame Tussauds in Blackpool to “join” stars from past and present inside the attraction’s Rovers Return pub. Some of the Cobbles’ bestloved characters – including Deirdre Barlow, Jack and Vera Duckworth, Ken Barlow, Hilda Ogden, Bet Lynch and Michelle Connor – are now wearing their #SaveOurSally T-shirts.

Brooke, 26, admitted she is so close to Sally in real life that she found the scenes of her behind bars “emotional” to shoot.

She told the Daily Star: “Sophie is gutted to see her mum imprisoned.

“It has been really emotional.

“I love how the public are so behind the campaign.”

And Brooke found the wax figures so lifelike the actress kept thinking she was back on set.

“I really want one myself,” she said.
