Brighton striker YOUR TURN: Which Bournemouth scored three goals for appearances in 19 Premier League Cherries in after signing for the
August 2015? wild comparisons to Diego Maradona, Cherries boss Eddie Howe sent the youngster a message to keep his feet firmly planted on the ground.
He said: “I think David’s just got to be very level-headed and not get blindsided by comments like that.
“It’s been a very good start for him. I think there is still a huge place in the modern game for intelligent footballers. We have pace in other areas. We need the brain as well.”
Brighton boss Chris Hughton is certainly smart enough, refusing to push the panic button just yet despite three straight defeats.
The Seagulls face Arsenal on Boxing Day along with Liverpool, Everton and Manchester United before the end of January.
But Hughton said: “We’ve got a tough run of games but these fixtures haven’t just popped up.
“We have to play these at some stage, and for what on paper is a more comfortable period, you are going to get your more difficult periods. But we always go into every game thinking that we are going to get something.”
