DEATH In Paradise bosses want to borrow Doctor Who’s Tardis and travel back in time for a special.

They would love to see Ardal O’Hanlon working on a case in the Caribbean crime series with his predecessors Kris Marshall and Ben Miller.

However, fans will realise there is a spanner in the works as Ben’s character – Richard Poole – was killed off.

To overcome this “little hurdle” they think the episode could work as a flashback.

The show’s executive producer Tim Key explained: “I don’t rule anything out. The door is always open.

“I’d like to do something like The Three Doctors in Doctor Who. You could have a flashback to a case involving Ben Miller, Kris Marshall and Ardal O’Hanlon.”

Ardal is currenly playing the lead role in Death In Paradise as DI Jack Mooney. He took over from Kris who

TEAMING UP? Ardal, left, and Kris portrayed cop Humphrey Goodman from 2014 to 2017. His character replaced Ben’s character Poole who launched the show back in 2011.

A raft of guests are lined up for the new series – which is back tonight on BBC One at 9pm – including The Inbetweeners’ Blake Harrison,

Robin Hood’s Jonas Armstrong,

Holby City’s Chizzy Akudolu and

EastEnder Richard Blackwood.
