A ROLY-poly bride too ashamed to be photographed has been crowned the Miss Slinky slimming champion.

Hayley Cook, 30, who dodged the snapper on her big day, is now proud to be pictured after losing more than six stone. The mum of two, who weighed 16st6lb at her wedding, said: “I just felt so uncomfortable with my body. I’d struggled with my weight for years and I couldn’t face the thought of posing for professional photographs. “With a new baby and a lovely new husband I should have felt on top of the world, but my weight was always a big insecurity for me.”

Risk

Hayley, from Didcot, Oxon, had ballooned to over 16 stone through comfort-eating after two miscarriages.

Then she gave birth to daughter Kaycie in 2016 and married boyfriend Andy two months later.

She was diagnosed with gestational diabetes which develops during pregnancy and usually disappears.

But after giving birth to son Archie last March she was warned she risked developing Type 2 diabetes.

She said: “It was a bit of a wake-up call for me and at that moment I knew I had to start looking after myself properly.”

Hayley dumped the takeaways and sweets and switched to a low-fat diet with plenty of exercise.

She lost 6st 5½lbs and has now been named Slimming World’s Miss Slinky 2019.

Hayley added: “I feel like such a different person now that I’d love to renew our wedding vows and get some photographs that I can look back on with happiness.”
