I DON’T DO BLUBBING MURRAY

Fans slam DJ’s comments

GOBBY radio host Alan Brazil faced fury after slamming tennis hero Sir Andy Murray’s tearful retirement speech.

The DJ sparked anger when he was criticised for claiming: “I don’t like to see grown men crying.”

Three-time Grand Slam winner Sir Andy received praise from the rest of the world as he admitted he wants to bow out after Wimbledon due to chronic hip problems, although the end could come as soon as next week’s Australian Open.

Fellow players including Rafa Nadal, Andy Roddick, Greg Rusedski and Nick Kyrgios, and Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon were among those to pay tribute.

Sir Andy, 31, broke down during a press conference in Melbourne.

But talkSPORT host Brazil,

59, a former footballer, blasted the star’s tearful goodbye.

He told co-host Jim White: “I think Andy’s got a bit of a problem to be honest. He’s got to be a little careful. I don’t like to see a grown man break down like that. I don’t do blubbing.”

Listeners blasted his comments while White accused him of talking “utter tripe”.

Sir Andy later revealed that a cuddle from his mum Judy,

59, helped him get through a “tough day”. He posted a snap of them on Instagram.

He said: “Feel very touched by all the messages and support. It means a lot.”

Sir Andy won two Wimbledon titles as well as the US Open, while he is the only player to claim two Olympic tennis singles gold medals.
