CALVIN HAPPY FOR GEORGE TRIUMPH

-

THE BRIT Awards nominations will be unveiled today but Calvin Harris doesn’t want one.

The Scot would rather rival George Ezra got a gong because he already feels like a winner landing the biggest song of 2018 with One Kiss.

Calvin explained: “George Ezra is having an amazing year. I want Ezra to win Best Male and I want Ezra to win Best Album. Let’s just say Ezra for everything.

“One Kiss was the biggest record of the year. I just work in facts guys, I just work in facts. Don’t get me wrong – if someone’s going to give me an award, I will accept that.

“But as far as just cold, hard facts go, I already have the biggest record, so give it to someone else.”

It’s highly unlikely Calvin will be overlooked during the BRITs Are Coming nomination show on ITV this afternoon, but he’s definitely up for coming to the bash in February whatever happens.

He told Tom and Daisy on KISS Breakfast: “I always go back for the BRITs, I love going back for the BRITs. It’s just another excuse to go back to the UK because I really like going back to the UK.”

This year promises to be another massive year for the DJ after he released his latest single Giant featuring Rag ‘N’ Bone Man this week.

He said: “It was one of the most fortuitous songs that’s ever come about me, it just landed in my inbox. Just an idea, just a demo vocal and some chords that he had. I heard it and I thought it was absolutely amazing. And then it was just down to me to figure out how to produce it out and turn it into something that made sense for both of us.”

Perhaps we will see Calvin in a talent show this year as well.

He teased: “I like giving people feedback. I like people telling me if I’ve got something that’s bad.

“So I would expect other people to be the same. So if they send me something and I think it’s bad, I’m going to say: Look, I’ll be honest with you, I don’t think this is very good’.”

Listen to the KISS Breakfast Show every weekday 6am-10am.
