Lorry 6 seized

SIX suspected illegal immigrants who jumped from the back of a lorry and fled on to busy train tracks have been arrested.

The men, from Iraq and Iran, led police on a three-hour chase involving a helicopter.

Network Rail was forced to turn off the power at a busy intersection of track, halting trains heading to Portsmouth, London Victoria and Brighton.

They were eventually found by police a mile away after escaping in the Farlington area of Portsmouth.

The Home Office said the men were now being held in custody and the case had been passed to the UK Border Force.

Three unaccompanied minors were taken into the care of social services.
