Army of unpaid in USA
CLOSE to a million federal workers in the US have been left unpaid as Donald Trump oversaw the longest government shutdown in history.
The dramatic closure happened after the President’s demand for
£4.4billion to build a wall along the border with Mexico was rejected by opposition politicians.
The 800,000 unpaid workers include more than
7,000 secret service employees, as well 42,000 coastguards.
It has also hit holidaygoers, with all national parks and museums forced to close.
Things have got so bad a food bank is now helping federal workers, and asking for volunteers to help pack food.
