HIT HELPS ACROSS WORLD

-

DOUBLE BRIT nominee Tom Walker is proud his huge hit Leave A Light On has helped fans all over the world.

Since releasing the tune Tom’s been flooded with messages from people saying how it has helped them with their own problems.

The songwriter told me: “That song has connected with people all around the world.

“I’ve had messages from people saying it’s helped them with their gambling problem, or they’ve got a friend that’s badly into drugs and it’s helped, loads of stuff.

“And I never expected it but it’s nice if it can help with their problems in any way.”

The song, up for British Single at this year’s BRITs, is about Tom’s pal’s own issues.

He added: “I wrote it for me because a friend of mine was going through a tough time and I was struggling to process it. That’s kind of what I do when stuff goes on, I write a song like that and work my way through it, by writing about it.” And Tom’s pleased he’s getting recognised at the BRITs, also receiving a nod for Breakthrough, because he’s proud of his songwriting.

“I’m so confident in my songwriting, if there’s one thing I’m good at it’s that.

“I wouldn’t say I’m the best singer in the world or performer but I’m f***ing good at writing songs.”

Tom’s debut album What A Time To Be Alive is out March 1. I’m expecting huge things.
