Wife & little ones join Evans on brekkie show

CHRIS Evans has vowed to make his Virgin Radio breakfast show a family affair – by roping in his wife and kids.

The DJ is planning to draft in the Evans clan for guest slots when he starts next Monday.

His return to the station comes almost 20 years after he left, and a month on from departing the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show.

He is now set to be joined by wife Natasha Shishmanian, as well as their children.

The 52-year-old presenter said: “I have been challenged, to what extent will I involve my family in order to make the brand-new Virgin Radio Breakfast Show a hit. The answer is infinite.

“I’m sorry but that’s just the way it is, it’s all hands on deck here – including the little ones!”

It won’t be the first time he has been joined by family on-air, with Natasha popping in for his final show on Radio 2. She read out a letter written by the car fanatic while doing an impression of their sons Noah and Eli.

Nine-year-old Noah has been on his show several times, while Eli, six, has yet to debut. Chris and Natasha also have baby twins.

Warrington-born Chris has revealed his show would be unpredictable, and “easy for the listeners to listen to and to get on with”. He added: “You don’t want it to be too certain, that’s too predictable.

“You want the connection with whoever is on, you want the love between you and everything that’s on the show.

“Then you want it to be significant, have purpose, be current and relevant.”

“Finally, you want to be able to contribute to it as it contributes to your life. It’s a two-way street.”

Evans previously hosted the breakfast show on Virgin Radio, only to be sacked in 2001 after he repeatedly failed to show up for work. FAMILY AFFAIR: DJ Chris
