Poison meal rap
A PUB owner has been fined £14,000 after 186 people were poisoned by a Mother’s Day meal.
The victims ranged from babies to diners in their 80s. They suffered from diahorrea and sickness, yet rallied within a few days.
Tests showed that meat contained the bacteria clostridium perfringens.
At North Somerset Magistrates Court, Eric Montgomery, who ran The Old Farmhouse in Nailsea at the time, admitted food safety breaches.
