Jimenez leads Wolves pack on Wembley way
HAD you asked Wolves fans at the start of the season what they wanted from this campaign, they would have snapped your hand off at seventh in the Premier League and an FA Cup quarter-final place.
And right now they are in a great position to achieve both of those things.
But attention turns to the Cup tomorrow when Nuno Espirito Santo’s men travel to Ashton Gate to face an in-form Bristol City side.
It is the visitors who will kick-off as favourites here at 1720 – which is fantastic value. Having already seen off Liverpool in this competition, there is no reason why Wolves cannot go all the way to Wembley.
The hosts may be 17-5 shots but it is worth noting they have only beaten Wolves twice in the last 25 years in all competitions, while the Black Country outfit have found the net in 11 of their last 12 meetings with the Robins.
It is no surprise, then, that they are only 11-10 to score two or more goals tomorrow.
Surprisingly, Matt Doherty has bagged three of Wolves’ last six Cup goals and while the 7-2 on him scoring here is tempting, I’m far more interested in the
6-4 on Raul Jimenez. He’s already scored in
11 in this campaign, including five since the turn of the year. Perhaps I am being too harsh on City, though.
