£million pledged to shut up Piers

...BUT HE WANTS £10M

PIERS Morgan is being offered £1million to quit Twitter for a year.

The loudmouth telly host is constantly having spats on the social media site.

And he has vowed to “be just as annoying, argumentative and insufferably right about everything” throughout 2019.

Now Aaron Harpin, founder of luxury marketplace HushHush.com, is hoping to buy his silence to make Twitter a “happier place”.

He said: “Imagine 365 days of Piers-free bliss online.

“This isn’t being stretched to Piers’ TV appearances but at least it’s easier to turn the TV off than to avoid him online.

“Personally, I just cannot understand how someone can be so opinionated all the time.

“My only fear is that he could come back worse than before, but it’ll be a nice break.

“I hope if he accepts it will go towards making Twitter a more pleasant social media platform.”

Under the rules Morgan, 53, has to quit the social network by March 18 and not return until the same date next year. If he does not tweet for 12 months, the money will be paid to him or to a charity of his choice.

Even the Good Morning Britain host is warming to the idea – but is holding out for a bigger offer.

He said: “It would take a lot more than that to get off me off Twitter. Try £10m a year and I’ll think about it.”
