NOTHING TOULOUSE

Brexit’s Euro flights bonus

- By ROBIN COTTLE

FLIGHT prices to EU countries are plummeting with the uncertainty over Brexit.

So your Daily Star scoured the web for the best deal and discovered canny Brits can jet off to the French city of Toulouse for less than a tenner.

Ryanair is offering the £9.99 deal, and a return trip stretches to just £35 on March 29 – the day Britain is due to leave the EU.

Toulouse is in south-west France, a twohour flight from the UK, and has plenty to attract the thrifty Brit.

There are museums, plenty of restaurants, and vineyards offering wine tours – with the region famous for Malbec.

Toulouse residents working in tourism are keen for Brits to keep on coming.

Cafe owner Pierre Clerc said: “Brits are still more than welcome, no matter what happens with Brexit. They will still be our European cousins. If the tickets are that cheap, there’s no excuse not to come.”

Brits can also head to stag-do hotspot Gdansk in Poland for just £30.

A trip to the sun-kissed Canary island of Lanzarote comes in at £41.

It is only £35 to the Italian city of Venice and £13 to Leipzig, Germany.

Industry experts say this is down to a reluctance to commit to holidays in the run-up to March 29.

Travel expert Simon Calder reassured Brits the March 29 deadline will not affect their holiday plans.

He said: “British travellers with a valid passport will have the automatic right of entry regardless of the expiry date.” SEEING DOUBLE: Reporter Robin has a tipple
