Bucks will push for a final upset

-

GAVIN COWAN urged AFC Telford fans to roar his Bucks side on and help pull off an FA Trophy upset against National League leaders Leyton Orient.

Only Macauley Bonne could find a way through the National North side’s defence after their semi-final first leg.

Ahead of Saturday’s return tie on home soil, boss Cowan said: “Now we will go back to our place and see if we can put them under some pressure and maybe get our fans to bring it home for us.”

Fellow North boys Stockport will also fancy their chances of reaching Wembley after holding Fylde to a goalless first leg at a windswept Mill Farm.

Fylde chief Dave Challinor said: “I would have taken a draw before the game once we knew what the weather was going to be like.” With Orient not in league action, Solihull Moors and Wrexham took full advantage in the promotion race.

Adi Yussuf’s late penalty sealed a 2-1 win over bottom club Braintree and Moors boss Tim Flowers said: “It doesn’t matter how you win at this stage. On another day we could have been coming in three or four goals up. But we just weren’t clinical enough.”

Tranmere winger Ben Tollitt ended his loan spell in Wales by hitting third-placed Wrexham’s winner against Maidstone.

Dragons boss Bryan Hughes said: “For some reason at the Racecourse we have looked edgy. But that might be because of what’s at stake.”
