Star ‘bitch’ blast

LOVE Island star Olivia Attwood has hit out at web trolls who called her a “bitch” for posting a tribute to tragic ex-love Mike Thalassitis.

The 27-year-old blasted the “clowns” and said they had turned social media site Instagram into “self-indulgent bulls***.”

Mike, affectionately nicknamed Muggy Mike, was found hanged in north London at the weekend.

She added: “Who is anyone to say what I need to post on my social media!? I decide what’s appropriate, not you!!

“This time is about Mike’s family and the people he was genuinely close to and that’s it. World’s gone mad...

“Maybe this is why Instagram is full of self-indulgent bulls*** and people are confused when you don’t comply to these standards. Absolute clown.”

Olivia briefly dated Mike on the 2017 series of the holiday love show before later returning to her original pairing with Chris Hughes.

Mike, who remained amicable with both Olivia and Chris, was found in woodland near his Essex home on Friday in a suspected suicide.

Since his death there has been an outpouring of tributes as well as calls for better mental health support for reality show contestants.

In her tribute, Olivia posted a broken heart emoji on Twitter and a heartfelt post on Instagram. Layered over an image of the duo, she wrote: “Literally don’t know what to say.

“Another one gone too young. Thinking of Mike’s family and friends at this horrendous time. You will be missed terribly.”

As well as scores of supportive comments, her heartfelt post was criticised by sick trolls.

After leaving the hit ITV show, Mike dated a string of celebrities including the former Towie star Megan McKenna.

The 26-year-old, who split with Mike last August, admitted she is “in complete shock” over his death.

She said: “Sorry I haven’t been on social media but I’m in complete shock and trying to come to terms with this. I can’t believe I’m even writing this post.

“My thoughts and prayers are with Mike’s family. Rest in peace Mike x.”
