EVERY Easter, summer and New Year I spend a week in Cornwall with friends from school.

But it’s dawned on me that I hate their guts – every single one of them.

The Queen Bee – ie, the most beautiful girl – still treats me like a tragic loser even though I’m a deputy headmistress.

She makes me feel stupid and unattractive, even though she’s done nothing with her life except look decorative.

I’m fully aware that my boyfriend has been in love with her since day one and only sticks with me to get close to her.

I suspect he thinks of her when we have sex.

The rest of them are damaged, difficult and not very nice people.

Dare I finally tell them what I think of them and shatter the group once and for all?

JANE SAYS: You can do anything you like. If you’ve outgrown your old circle, then ring the changes and duck out of any further gatherings.

Tell whoever is organising the Easter holiday that you won’t be attending after all and make other plans.

The reality is that we don’t all stay friends with everyone for ever. You know your own worth and don’t have to put up with rubbish from the Queen Bee or anyone else .

I suspect the problem is that you all fall into your old roles once you get back together again, but you’re simply not that shy girl any more.

Why should you have to pretend to hide your success?

It’s insulting to realise that your man lusts after someone else, so is it time to ditch him too?

It sounds like you’ve finally woken up and recognised your strengths.
