Dr Ranj urges Piers: Shut it!

BREKKIE BUST-UP OVER PRESENTER TRANS JOKE

PIERS Morgan was locked in a war of words with ITV stablemate Dr Ranj Singh over the Good Morning Britain presenter’s gender-related jokes.

This Morning’s Dr Ranj took offence at his colleague and tweeted he was tired of him attacking vulnerable people.

The row comes after Piers joked he was “trans-slender.”

Strictly star Dr Ranj wrote: “I am getting a little tired of @piersmorgan making gender-related jokes on

TV for entertainment. Piers, this stuff may seem funny, but it actively harms vulnerable people.

“As a medical professional, I implore you: PLEASE don’t do it.”

Piers refused to back down and argued he was tired of people telling him what he can and cannot say, even resorting to name calling.

He fired back: “Hi Ranj, I am getting a little tired of humourless ‘woke’ berks like you telling me what gender-related jokes I can & can’t make on TV for entertainment...

“I implore you: PLEASE don’t do it.”

Several people on Twitter backed Piers’ comments, arguing he was just making a joke. And trans newsreader India Willoughby, who appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2018, also stood behind the GMB host.

She said: “Oh come on Dr Ranj. Like you both. Personally find Piers HILARIOUS! There is a comical side to being trans, just as much as being anything else.

“As long as the motive isn’t hate – which it isn’t – then fine.”
