Klopp’s stars coast to final

JURGEN KLOPP has ordered his squad to lie on a beach, drown their sorrows, then win the Champions League.

The Liverpool boss wants his players to go on holiday before the final in Madrid to recharge and put the title race heartache out of their minds.

That means sun, sea and sand until Monday.

Klopp is convinced his plan will get them in the perfect frame of mind for the final with Spurs on June 1.

He said: “We have to do a couple of compulsory media things in preparation for the final, then the boys will have some days off. They will get a little holiday.

“Then we have two proper weeks as a pre-season for the Champions League final.”

Virgil van Dijk revealed that means most of the players will hit the beach.

“I will relax the mind, enjoy the beach and after then we get ready for the final,” the Dutch defender said.

Slovenian referee Damir Skomina has been appointed for the final.

He refereed Manchester United’s Europa League final win over Ajax in 2017.
