Hospital tea row brewing
HOSPITAL cleaners say they are being forced to drink secret cups of tea after being banned from taking breaks.
Staff are not allowed a brew break until they have worked non-stop for six hours, say bosses at Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust.
A whistleblower for the porters, kitchen staff and other manual workers said they feel like “naughty children”.
Bosses confirmed the rule but added that they encourage managers to ensure staff take “appropriate” breaks throughout their shifts.
