United’s Pog war

-

everybody, everywhere else. After everything that happened this season, with it being my best season as well... I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else.”

Pogba believes he can pressure United into selling him but the club will dig their heels in and insist the World Cup winner cannot dictate terms.

The Frenchman used a promotional tour of Japan to turn up the heat on United 48 hours after his agent Mino Raiola had a ban lifted.

The bombshell revelation has given boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a headache and the Norwegian only wants players fully committed.

United’s fans will want rid of Pogba.

They feel he has done little during his three years back at the club to justify his huge fee and wages.

Monaco’s Youri Tielemans, who caught the eye on loan at Leicester during the second half of last season, and Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen are seen as possible replacements.

TYSON FURY dazzled under the bright lights of Las Vegas as he easily dealt with Tom Schwarz in the fight capital of the world.

The British heavyweight star stopped the German in the second round of a totally one-sided affair at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Fury then sang Aerosmith’s ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ (inset) to his wife Paris, giving the crowd some added entertainment.

There was plenty of talk beforehand that Fury had to thrill the fans when fighting in Sin City.

And while it was clear Schwarz – unbeaten in 24 fights before this – was out of his depth, Fury certainly did excite.

He said: “The key was to enjoy myself – I was slipping and sliding and shifted to southpaw. I came here to put on a show for

Las Vegas and I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.”

Fury’s ring-walk started as a tribute to the lineal heavyweight champions of the past as he looked sinister in an all-black robe.

But it was soon whipped off to reveal an Apollo Creed outfit from the Rocky films as ‘Living in America’ blared out.

What a way to introduce himself to the Las Vegas crowd for the first time.

The MGM Grand Garden Arena was not fully open but it was lively as the 9,000-strong crowd welcomed ‘The Gypsy King’ into the iconic boxing venue.

He said in the week that he felt he was “born to be a star” where all the big names headline.

And it is safe to say the Brit looked right at home here.

Fury, wearing the Stars and Stripes of the American flag on his shorts, was making his debut on the US ■ from CHRIS McKENNA in Las Vegas broadcaster ESPN promoter Top Rank.

The Manchester-born boxer took control from the first bell as he popped out a jab to keep a rigid Schwarz away. Just two weeks ago, the landscape of the heavyweight division changed dramatically.

Anthony Joshua surrendered his WBA, IBF and WBO titles in the seventh round against challenger Andy Ruiz Jnr.

It only added to Fury’s claims that he is the top dog in the sport’s glamour division.

There were also the expected suggestions that Fury needed to be wary of an upset as Ruiz Jnr proved that in heavyweight boxing anything can happen.

But there was danger of that here. Fury switched to southpaw in the second round and he was razor sharp as he followed jabs up with fast left hands. He insisted all week that the result was not a formality against the German unproven at this level. But it was soon clear that this was a mismatch.

Schwarz landed a right halfway through the second but it was the only punch of note.

Fury retaliated with a left hook before he made the German miss with his following four shots and then went on the attack in vicious fashion. The Brit put his opponent over with a jab after a left hook rattled him. Schwarz beat the count but his face was a bloody mess. Fury didn’t let him off the hook as he cornered him and rattled through with a number of shots. Referee Kenny Bayless tried to give Schwarz a chance to see out the round but the towel came in with six seconds left. and for no
