Growing farmers

-

MORRISONS is ready to launch a £2million apprenticeship fund to train budding farmers.

The average age of workers in the sector is 59, with only three per cent under 35, according to research by the supermarket chain.

And Morrisons’ chief executive David Potts, said: “It makes sense to invest so that more new farmers can be trained to provide food for the nation.”
