Kirsty’s lover in inquest aid fury
THE partner of the “Angel of London Bridge” claims he was almost bankrupted when he was denied legal aid during her inquest.
Nurse Kirsty Boden, 26, was knifed by three terrorists while rushing to help the wounded during the terror attack on London Bridge in 2017.
James Hodder, 32, from Cheltenham, Glos, feared the huge fees for legal representation would leave him bankrupt. His barrister has offered to do some work for free.
The charity worker, who has launched a campaign for families of terror victims to be automatically given legal aid, also revealed he was planning to propose to Kirsty.
James said: “When my lawyer told me I’d been rejected for legal aid it completely shocked us. It’s disgusting people have to go through this.
“I was planning to propose. I was trying to be a gentleman and was going to ask her father but he lives in Australia.”
